A journey through art and resilience
Our artistic journey began amidst the challenging "Special Period" in Cuba during the 1990s. It was then that I enrolled in the Experimental Center for Visual Arts in Havana, my hometown. This pivotal opportunity allowed me to delve into the diverse aspects of art, from foundational drawing to painting, sculpture, and engraving on wood, glass, and stones. I also explored graphic design, ceramics, and other formats, all of which enriched my technique and illuminated my unique path. Mentors like Nelson Dominguez and Saida del Rio guided me in person, while the distant inspiration of my uncle-in-law Jose M. Acosta Miyer and Tomas Sanches fueled my perseverance.
